With public health and safety assured, Lifeline Express was able to perform free cataract operations on the 3 hospital Eye-trains as well as send medical teams to local hospitals in Linxia, Gansu Province and Tongcheng, Hubei Province to help those who could not make it to the Eye-trains.
However, the work of Lifeline Express had to be stopped after 12 operations in Yili, Xinjiang as the city was put on lockdown to prevent the spread of the epidemic.
Lifeline Express has managed to restore the sight of 5,903 underprivileged cataract patients despite the difficult circumstances of 2022.
